The Story Behind the BULG NR:788

​The story of BULG begins with Elteksan, a company whose journey into the world of socks started in 1999. At first, Elteksan specialized in the electronic repair of sock machines and the development of innovative electronic support equipment for the hosiery industry. Over the years, this deep technical knowledge gradually evolved into expertise in sock production itself.

By 2014, Elteksan decided to focus entirely on sock manufacturing. During this period, the research and development journey that would eventually create BULG socks quietly began.

The first prototype of BULG socks was produced in November 2024. What followed was nearly a year of experimentation. Different yarns, different knitting structures, and countless adjustments were tested — all with one simple goal:

To create the sock people instinctively reach for every morning.

​

By August 2025, a total of 78 prototypes had been produced. Because the project was completed in the 8th month and involved 78 different prototypes, the collection was named NR:788.

​

The final versions were sent to 78 testers to evaluate in real daily life — at work, during sports, while walking, camping, and throughout everyday routines. The feedback was exactly what we had hoped for. Every tester described it in the same way:

 

“This is as good as a sock can get.”

 

One month later, we contacted the testers again. The response surprised us even more. Many told us they were still wearing the same pair and had become unwilling to replace them with any other socks.

 

Today, we proudly produce the BULG NR:788 series, a sock designed to perform anytime, anywhere — from daily life to sports and outdoor activities.
